Fibroids are a common concern among women, particularly those in their reproductive years. They are benign tumours that grow in the uterus, often leading to various symptoms that may impact a woman's quality of life.
The female reproductive system is key to a woman's overall health. However, many women often neglect their reproductive health until issues arise.
Endometriosis is a chronic and often painful condition for many women. Despite how common it is, many of them are not aware of their options and suffer in silence without proper treatment.
Living with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) can be a complex and often challenging experience for many women. PCOS not only brings physical symptoms like irregular periods and weight gain, but it also can impact a woman's chances of starting a family.
The journey can be uncertain and frustrating for couples struggling to conceive. Many factors can influence fertility, and understanding these can be the first step toward finding a solution.
The choice of contraception depends on factors such as health, convenience, cost, and whether the individual wants temporary or permanent prevention. Contraceptives are essential for family planning, improving maternal health, and controlling the spread of sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
Adenomyosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus (endometrium) grows into the muscular wall of the uterus. This can cause symptoms like heavy menstrual bleeding, painful periods, chronic pelvic pain, and an enlarged uterus. The exact cause is unclear, but it is more common in women who have had children or are in their 40s and 50s.
A polyp is an abnormal growth of tissue that can develop in various parts of the body, such as the colon, uterus, nose, or cervix. Polyps are typically benign (non-cancerous), but some can become cancerous over time, especially in the colon. They may not cause symptoms, but larger polyps can lead to issues like bleeding, pain, or blockages, depending on their location.
Vaginitis is an inflammation of the vagina, often causing symptoms like itching, burning, unusual discharge, and discomfort during urination or sex. It can be caused by infections (such as yeast infections, bacterial vaginosis, or sexually transmitted infections), hormonal changes, or irritants like soaps or douches.
Menstrual disorders refer to irregularities in the menstrual cycle, affecting the timing, duration, or flow of menstruation. Proper diagnosis and management are important for maintaining reproductive health.
The pregnancy journey is an exciting and life-changing experience. Obstetricians guide women through this journey, offering support from preconception through childbirth and beyond.
Sexual health is fundamental to general well-being, yet it’s often overlooked due to societal stigma and misconceptions. Regular STD (sexually transmitted disease) screening is a proactive measure that can protect you and your partner.
For women, wellness isn't just about physical health but also mental and emotional well-being. They should start becoming more aware of their wellness throughout adulthood, but some health concerns become increasingly important as they age. A holistic approach that includes regular screenings and other measures can help women lead healthier lives.
